Grease Trap Problems? Try Anti-Microbial Injectors

At Five Guy’s Burgers in NYC, management was dealing with recurring grease trap back-ups from many nights of busy service.

Popular Plumbing came to the rescue and immediately diagnosed the problem. Our experienced team has seen this problem before and knew exactly what to do. After clearing the clogs, we installed a anti-microbial injectors to the grease trap and sewage ejector.

Furthermore we began monthly check ups to the system to ensure everything flowed smoothly.

The result? Their grease trap has been problem-free ever since. The client was so happy they now install the microbial systems at all of their new locations. Call us today about our plumbing services.

Citi Field – 38 Miles of Refrigeration

When someone thinks of a 850 million dollar renovation to one of world’s most legendary sports venues, big jumbotrons and fancy sky boxes probably come to mind. In 2011, Citi Field turned to day and night to do a much more important job. Pour beer faster and colder with a new refrigeration system.

In order to keep millions of fans a year happy and increase revenue Day & Nite installed a state of the art beer system. The system consists of over 38 miles on beer lines, 1000 kegs and 566 individual taps at 45 stations.

After the project was completed, Citi Field was able to serve more beer faster contributing to less wait time. This made fans and management happy; a home run for everyone.

Reduce Refrigeration Costs With EC Motors

Our clients are always looking for ways to reduce costs in their corporate dining facilities and we’re committed to bringing them innovative solutions. To keep large walk-ins and other refrigeration systems running requires a ton of electricity.

One of New York’s busiest catering companies Abigail Kirsch came to us several years ago to upgrade their motors to electronically commutated or EC motors for the reasons mentioned above. These “brushless motors” can run up to 70% more efficient than traditional motors that run vaporators, condenser fans, refrigerated display-cases and in Abigail Kirsch’s case walk-In Coolers.

Years later the EC motors are running well. The client has yet to call us to replace any of them or the controllers. As result, the company gained energy efficiencies and cost savings through less required maintenance. Call us now to learn about how we can make your facility more sustainable.

Plumbing Case Study: Clogged Drains Drain Revenue

When the kitchen is down at a Steakhouse it means lost revenue and potential customers are going to another restaurant. This was the case at Mastros last year. Due to stoppages in the floor drains the hot-line was not running which brought the work in the kitchen to a halt.

Fortunately, they called Popular Plumbing who quickly responded with all the tools and knowledge to fix the clogged drains. Utilizing electric drain cleaners and a video camera locator, the location of the stoppage was found outside of the restaurant in the building piping. It was so big that a section of pipe had to be removed to get rid of the stoppage. Just to make be on the safe side, the drains were further cleaned with a high pressure water jetter to ensure proper operation.

With speed and efficiency Popular Plumbing diagnosed and fixed the problem. In less than a day, the kitchen was operational again the restaurant was turning tables.

Gas Leaks – Finding & Fixing Lines

gas-leak

Sometimes plumbing can be dangerous work and the most dangerous jobs are gas leaks. Recently a leak was detected to a popular NYC restaurant and the gas supply was shut down by Con Edison. This forced the restaurant to close it’s doors. The problem needed to be fixed quickly because in the NY restaurant world, time is money.

We deployed a team of plumbing technicians who found and repaired multiple leaks in the gas piping. Our support team in the office coordinated with Con Edison and the New York City Building Department to file the necessary permits and paperwork to get the gas restored so the client could worry about the rest of their business while we got the job done.

Our plumbing experts fixed the dangerous leaks and the restaurant was able to begin operations shortly thereafter after the collaborative effort from our team.

Case Study: Commerical Kitchen Equipment

Viacom feeds thousands of hungry employees every week and they cannot afford for crucial kitchen equipment to be down during the week. Recently they needed old pieces removed and new equipment installed over the weekend.

Luckily they called on All Service who could procure the equipment from a manufacturer partner, deliver it to the location then handle the removal/installation. Our highly trained crew was already familiar with the new items so not a moment was wasted figuring out the new equipment.

Because they called All Service, Viacom’s kitchen equipment was fully operational before Monday and cooks enjoyed their weekend.

Energy Saving Tips For Commercial Refrigeration

With the already high and continually rising cost of energy, every business is looking for ways to keep their usage costs to a minimum. If your business utilizes Walk-In Refrigeration, Day & Nite has partnered with Frigitek Energy Control Equipment to offer a solution that could keep more of your profits in your pocket. Frigitek Electronically Commutated Motors and Controllers produce significant energy reduction as well as lower your CO2 footprint. Standard shaded pole motors run on A/C voltage whereas the Frigitek EC motors run on D/C voltage which is not only much more efficient, but also produces dramatically less heat load and subsequently prolongs compressor life expectancy. The Frigitek Controllers are used to modulate the fan speed and further reduce energy consumption. Installation of the Frigitek Motors and Controllers for the average 3 fan blower would produce a reduction of up to 84% in energy usage and 8000lbs per year in C02. HVAC Tips – Improving Efficiency & Reliability

It’s a fact that proper maintenance of HVAC systems improves efficiency, reliability and longevity of equipment. A simple way to justify the value of a maintenance plan is to start with a piece of equipment or system that has not been properly maintained. Review the maintenance records for the equipment or system. How has the lack of maintenance impacted the operation in terms of reactive maintenance costs and interruptions of service compared to what it would have cost to perform scheduled maintenance? If maintenance has not been a high priority, chances are that there will be a number of equipment failures that occurred during the year. Some will be random failures that maintenance may not have been able to prevent. Others will be the direct result of poor maintenance.
